The original Devil may cry that was released in 2001 was known as the best action game in most of the gamer's points of view, Two years later, Devil may cry 2 was released, But sadly, It was known as one of the worse sequels in the gaming history, Since then, The devil may cry series died, And no one thought that there is going to be a Devil may cry as fun as the original, But now........ Devil may cry 3 has arrived( This time a prequal ), And It is BETTER than the original Devil may cry, Capcom has managed to resseruct Devil may cry. Let's start off with the thing that many people complained about it....... The difficulty, If you ask me, The game isn't THAT difficult as the people are saying, Though, One of the reasons why this game is better than the original is because it's harder, So, If anyone liked DMC2 because it was easy, Then they should avoid this game because it's going to be REALLY hard for them, As for the people that are used to hard games, They will enjoy this one for sure. The combo system is very well done, It allows you to jump from skill to skill without stopping, You also have the ability to change between two long range or short range weopons at the heat of battle, Allowing your fighting style to become more stylish, You have some skilles at the beggining of the game that are suffeciant for a starter, Like Hightime, The stinger skill is now usefull and long again. Almost Everone knows that the original Devil may cry had a story but a bit weak, And it's sequel's story was so weak that it didn't seem that the game had a story, The problem has been solved in this chapter, As mostly in every level, more of the story's parts get's revealed, And the unanswered questions of the original Devil may cry are answered in this chapter, As it is a prequal to the original Devil may cry, So you can expect a younger Dante, By the way, I forgot to say........ Dante's Back!! Yes, He now talks again and he behaves like he was behaving in the original Devil may cry ( His even sharper now though.....). The game may seem a bit difficult at first, As you have nothing but a single melee and ranged weapons, As you proceed though the game, You will recieve new items and weapons that will make the game more comfortable and stylish, The enemies are now big again, They do look cool, Though not as cool as the bosses, The bosses now have personalaties again( They talk again ), When you confront a boss, You will be forced to change your fighting style from the way you have been fighting the other monsters, As the boss fights are quite challenging, But fun, Each boss you kill gives you a reward for your hard work on killing it. Unlike it's previus chapters, You can now choose your own fighting style before entering a mission or at some parts during missions, There are four styles you can choose from at start, Swordmaster, Gunslinger, Trickster and Royal Guard, The swordmaster as you can see from it's name allows you to perform more skills with your melee weapon, The gunslinger is good for your long range attacks as it allows you to kill your enemies easier using your guns, The Trickster is usually the default style and i highly recommand it to people that havent's played the previeus Devil may crys, As it gives you the ability to dodge around easily and other skilles( Don't need to spoil them ) that will make the battle easier, The last one is Royal Guard which is recommanded for skilled players as it is a bit hard to master, But if you do master it, You will become almost invinceble, You should know that these four are not the only styles in the game......... The controls are good, You can still change them if your not comfortable with the defualt settings, And it's too important to make the battle comfortable for the player, As you have to change your Combo style from time to time to earn more experiance points for your fighting style, Yes, You can level up your style and learn new skills. As i've seen through the game, The graphics are exellent, The effects and animations are very good too, The sound of the gun shots and sword slashes makes you feel like your really fighting demons not playing a game, The envirnoment is again like the original Devil may cry, Though, The menu screen is still not as stylish as the original Devil may cry, But that doesn't effect the gameplay. You also earn orbs after each enemy or boss you kill, Or finish a mission, Orbs are your money, You can use them to buy new items ans stuffs from the statue of time, The statue of time is found at many places so you don't have to worry that if you proceed through a room then you can't see the statue again. One of the best news of this game is that it's gameplay is fast again, Not only faster than Devil may cry 2 but even faster than the original Devil may cry. I thank Capcom A LOT for their well done musics, It's defferint from the way the musics were in the preveius chapters but it's better, The music let's you crave more for battle, Good job, Capcom. You should know that the game is so hard( and fun ) That you may be killed by only 5-7 hits from the enemy in the start of the game, The game get's easier after you find the blue orbs, Blue orbs are items that increase your maximum life meter, Also, Before you start a mission, You can reply the previus missions you played in so you can collect more orbs or practice your skilles and improve them in preparation for your next level. In the end, Devil may cry 3 rocks hard, It's better than the original Devil may cry, Believe me, When you play this game, You will know what i mean, The reason why Greg gave this game a lower score than the original was because the game was hard for him, But believe me, Because of it's difficulty, It deserves a higher score, If you liked the original Devil may cry, You will 100% like this one more.
