The main point as hinted by the title, is to destroy every other car in the arena. The game has two track types, road courses and normal arenas. Both play mostly the same, but on road courses you can get going at full speed and have a massive head on collision with another car, and in arenas you just flat out beat the heck out of all the other cars in a smaller area.
The winning factor in this game is how it shows damage, which is very detailed for an N64 game. Of course crashing and being rewarded has its good points too. The majority of the cars in the game are weak identical stock cars that all have different skins. However, the amount and coolness of the unlockables fixes that downside.
The game also features different catchy tunes for each track and destructive sound effects to go with them.
The multiplayer is perfectly executed leaving you with things to do no matter how long ago you beat the game!
