User Rating: 8 | Destroy All Humans! XBOX
Destroy All Humans pits you as the alien clone Crypto-Sporidium 137...or 138...or 139. Each time you die, you are amazingly re-cloned as the next version of clone #136 who crash landed on Earth, and it is all set back in the 50s. Your mission, find out what happened to Crypto-136, and make the earthlings pay for your misfortune. It's quirky plot-lines like this, and of course the chance to be the bad guy for a change, that make this adventure game worth the money. And youare definitely the bad guy...

You get to use tele-kenisis to lift cars, people, signs, cows (yes, cows) and just about anything else is sight and send it careening into everything else. You can read and control minds, you can rip brain stems from humans and harvest their DNA, you can mutilate cattle, you can create holographic images of human forms overyourself (holo-bob) to fool the oposition, and best of all...you get big guns. You can electricute, analy prope, disinegrate, and just plain wipe out everyone to death, either on foot or by taking to the sky in your flying saucer. And the saucer has its own death ray, sonic ray, destruction ray, and abduction ray, and they all come with upgrades just like your psychic powers and guns.

You of course buy these upgrades with the DNA you harvest during missions and on side missions (which there are a bunch of) from your wonderfully big-headed leader Orthopox. Both the characters and all the plot lines are just plain funny and wierd, and the gameplay is very fun to control. There is maybe not a lot of replayability after you beat everything, but you don't just skip through the missions in one day because you need to find all the probes and side missions to fully beat the game and unlock all the extras and B-movies. The value is great now that the game has been out for awhile and you can find it for less than $50, but even at full price it would have been a great game to play and then resell. The graphics are good, but definitely not cutting edge. The sound is good for the game type, but lacking in the good music I am used to in most games I play. Overall, A great game.
