Well it won't be quick but it will be gratifying. Buying Defense Grid is a commitment you better be ready for because your mind won't allow you to put it down until you've accomplished something.
Defense Grid is a 'Tower Defense' game in every sense of the phrase. You stay in one location, sort of like a military base, and build towers to defend against an oncoming alien onslaught. Pretty simple, huh?
To be exact... The goal of the aliens is to invade your base, following a predefined entry-point, steal your power cores, and leave through a predefined exit-point. The exit point is sometimes the same as the entry-point. Along the way they'll face your towers that you build to defend against them. The towers have different strengths and weaknesses and you'll need to use the correct combination and build them in the correct spots to stop the alien thieves.
Towers costs resources you only have a little resources when you start the game. You earn more resources as your towers kill the invading aliens.
When an alien makes it through your towers and grabs a power core he must then make it out. If he dies then the power core slowly floats back to your power core storage location. It can be grabbed by another alien and they'll make a break for the exit.
The aliens do not damage your towers so repairing towers does not apply which eliminates an aspect that probably wouldn't have been enjoyed anyways. Also, you can upgrade towers and sell towers to gain some resources back.
The goal is to still have some cores left by the end of the waves. The more cores you have then the higher your points.
This game is sickly addictive. If you want to blow some points and play a game where success doesn't make you happy and just causes you to strive more for perfection then this is the one.
