this is my Favourite zombie series along with Left 4 Dead

this game is Great, lets start off with its made by Capcom the developers behind the mediocre resident evil series the good thing is its much more fun than resident evil and wont scare you S@#%less, lets talk about the good stuff, the game starts off with you entering a shopping mall in collerado after you get a tipoff that something BIG is going down, then you get there and the undead fills up the screen literally there can be up to one thousand of these brainless dumbarses on the screen at once, and the graphics are perfect considering how old it is since it from 2006 it will look like nothing compared to uncharted 2 but its 3 years older than uncharted 2 therefore it still looks fantastic, the story is very good and very serious overall making it one of the best stories based on zombies you can find out there, basically you have to spend 72 in-game hours (over 5 real hours) to finish all the levels and find out what is really going on the good thing about this is you dont have to do the missions if you dont want to cause there are multiple endings that close off whatever you did in those 72 hours, and you earn XP for doing stuff so what i like to do is going through my first playthrough killing zombies, saving survivors, earning XP, leveling up to the maximum level of 50, knowing my way around the mall, then going through the game again with all my XP and my level that i finished off with, and doing all the story missions but you play however you want to, you can kill crap loads of zombies getting many achievements or you can stick to the story or go and save survivors and bring them back to the saferoom for loads of XP, but the BEST thing about Dead Rising is that there are dozens of stores in that shopping mall and you can basically use EVERYTHING in those stores as a weapon going from kids toys to dumbells, and lawn mowers to chainsaws its impossible to not have fun in this game, and this game is incredibly gory and funny and the boss battles while hard are fun to fight and are while cheesy are voiced pretty well.
but now to the bad stuff first the combat is pretty clunky when ever you attack you are vulnerable to zombie bites which you have to waggle the sticks to get the zombie off you before they kill you until your character does attack, which takes over one second but thats a small gripe, another one is when tou start the game from level one it is hard so its best to grab a strong weapon or a vehicle to survive but by the time you reach level 50 the game will be A LOT easier, but the biggest problem with this game is that the save system is absolutley crap, you only have on save slot so if you dont have the right skills or enough health or a good weapon to fight a boss you're toast you might as well start again with your current level and that you can only save by visiting a restroom or the saferoom and that can be hard work, and when you die you have to go back to the last time you saved it which you could lose LOADS of XP, another thing that is painful is that when you're aiming to throw or shoot something you cannot move you're character, which is dangerous and another thing which isnt that big of a deal is that the story, the plot, the characters, and the setting is completley serious but the combat and the ability to kill zombies in so many fun and entertaining ways is completely silly.
but i can guarentee those are the only bad things and i seriously encourage you to buy this game for your XBOX 360, no matter what genre your into, go and get it my good man/woman.
