As fun as the first one, but it could have been much better...

Maybe I'll be harsh in my evaluation but it's because I loved Dead Rising 1 , and let's face it … I'm kind of disappointed with this prequel.

The features that made DR1 awesome are still here, but only a few new things were added. Even worse, many recurrent problems are still present.

I really enjoyed this game because…

-You see dozens of zombies on the screen and you can kill each one in a different (and fun) way.
-You can "interact" with survivors who can also help you in your quest.
-The ticking clock forces you to let some survivors behind and there's no going back.
-Trying to survive in an open world infested of zombies is a challenge in itself.
And the only point which was not in DR1:
- The system of weapon combination allows Chuck to use powerful and amazing weapons.

But there are still many problems…

- The inventory mixes weapons and food: When, in a middle of a fight, your weapon breaks (and your next item is food), you can be sure you'll be drinking an orange juice while being eaten by a zombie.
-The B button does too many things. When with a survivor, you try to grab a weapon that is in front of a door… I bet you that Chuck will either talk to the survivor or open the door. (Of course if you want to open the door, he'll grab the weapon!)
- Long load times! Considering the huge number of times that you have to go in your safe house, it's really annoying.
-The survivors are never where you expect them to be. Survivors appear at a certain time. But even if it's time, you have to go back in your safe house to make them appear on the map. So if you spend too much time in the city without a break in the safe house, you'll miss many survivors.
- I can't talk about the AI of survivors because it's a missing part of the game. They're only able to walk from A to B in straight line.
-Survivors don't talk and you have to read what they say.
-Different endings? I would say different "game-over cut-scenes"…

Nevertheless I beat the game 4 or 5 times to get all the achievements and I do not regret my 400 MSP. The game in itself is really good but considering that all the good points are taken from the first Dead Rising, it reduces the performance.
