If you ever wondered what you could do with a shotgun strapped to a pitchfork, you need to buy this game.
The somewhat basic story follows Chuck Greene, a former motocross champion and all-round handyman, who is trapped in the dead-end town of Still Creek after his car was stolen. You have to find parts to build a motorbike, while acquiring Zombrex to keep your daughter's nasty infection at bay, and of course, you will be doing all this during the outbreak of the zombie apocalypse.
However, Chuck isn't as screwed as it would first appear. Pretty much anything you can think of that would be useful (or not e.g. ketchup) to kill a zombie is in the game, but unlike the original, developers Blue Castle expanded on this idea for the sequel by allowing you to combine objects to create ridiculously sick and twisted contraptions to thin the undead horde for example the drill bucket, which decapitates zombies from the scalp down. Along the way of this multi-layered fetch quest, you will encounter other survivors that give you XP bonuses and other useful things if you take them to the safe house.
Case Zero is not a long game, but the beauty of Dead Rising is that all your stats carry with you into the next play-through so you can keep hacking away to level up and increase your leaderboard rank. Also, jamming a shower head into a zombies face and watching the blood stream out the end never gets old. Be assured, you will get more than your money's worth out of this game.
If you didn't like the first Dead Rising, then stay away because very little has changed from the timed zombie-killing formula of the original game. However, for everybody else, you should download this right now as it is hard to see a better deal on XBLA, and it has drill buckets. DRILL BUCKETS!
