First off I loved Dead Island and plan on reviewing the game soon but I'm reviewing this first because it'll be short.

I got this DLC when it was on sale for 400msp and I still feel cheated. First thing I noticed was there was no achievements....no big deal I come from a time before achievements so I'll survive. The next thing I noticed while playing is that unlike Dead Island you have no skill trees and you can not progress in levels. You are at a static level 15 and can go not further.

The DLC ignores everything that makes Dead Island great. While you can still mod weapons it's almost pointless and I found no really great mods. His main thing is guns and there are plenty of those around.
The game play is really linear as it forces you along a path that you've already explored in the main story, so no new areas, and you really can't deviate to explore.
I wasn't truly hating it until I got to the point where the infected constantly re spawn around you all the time. At first I just thought it was part of the area that I just had to make it through because I was in the quarantine area of Moresby. I was wrong cause once I got through there and into the sewers it got worse. The bad part is that infected will spawn behind you in an area you just came through and in front of you, soon you find yourself outnumbered with no where to go. I guess the idea is that you have to constantly rush ahead to avoid the swarms with not time to pick anything up.
To make it worse is that when you die you don't re spawn you go back to your last checkpoint minus any ammo or healths you used up trying to defend yourself. So you have less going into an area again that you got killed in !!!!!
Anyway it's terrible, I lost interest at 33% and decided if I really want to see the back story for Ryder white I can watch it on Youtube and avoid throwing my controller at something. Terrible DLC, lazy and not well thought out. Just something they threw together to get money from people who love Dead Island.
