It's Daytona, exactly as you remember it... PERFECT!

Daytona USA was an absolutely brilliant example of arcade class. Sharp, colorful and quick, its extremely slick visuals represented the wide gulf between itself and the hobbling 2D home consoles of the time. Sadly, Sega didn't seem to realize the 3D fever these games created, and was left entirely unprepared for Sony's 3D "powerhouse" PlayStation.
Daytona USA on PSN (and 360, I'm sure) is exactly what was needed for this arcade classic, and no more. No effort is made to mask the low-poly cars, or redraw textures, or remix the hilarious music. Instead, it's rendered in HD and adapted to widescreen TVs, and that's it. The result is Daytona, exactly as you remember it, just as vibrant as ever. And thanks to the colorful pop of its visual design, it has aged beautifully. The control is excellent with the DualShock, though I'm itching to try it with a racing wheel.
What's missing? Split-screen multiplayer would have been nice. And… that's about it. Highly recommended at the Playstation Plus price of $6.00.
