Too much management .
another thing is this is NOT fun to play. totally a headache. if you play in Continuous mode you would definitely realize the truth. first it's really hard to be a multitasking when you grow up your civilization you need spices from Oriental people. but why would your citizens demand spices that they have never seen before?
it doesn't make sense. I dunno why they force you to make the contact with the oriental people. infact when you refer oriental there are a lot of people in Asia this game has obviously Arabs not even Persians or Eastern Asians or Indians. so it's not fair to refer oriental to entire Arabia. anyway I am not enjoying this game I suppose I enjoyed playing age of empires than this. this is too much management and you need to focus on the game all the time. you can't take a look around, explore lands, can do nothing.
I am not playing this game for learning the management. this is horrible and I felt bored all the time. graphics are fine.
Islands are too small, there is only one way to increase your income and which is taxes. but you need to have a lot of people for that. it's too much of balance. if you don't advance your civilization. other civilizations get advantage of that and threaten you to pay them unless they will attack you with their battle ships. you can forget about plagues, sand storms, thunder storms or even tornadoes cause they can switched off from the configuration menu
they don't give a chance to you. all civilizations are waiting until u become weak. I love this game but I don't feel I enjoy this.
if they can increase the land size, make day and night life cycles and seasons and include more climates like snowing ,tropical, etc.. I feel this need to be improved a lot.
