Just plain awesome! Read this to refute Gamespot or those reviewers who played the game for 2 hrs.
Darksiders is a free roaming world with beautifully intricate puzzles, dungeons, and bosses. But unlike a Zelda game the combat seems like it's the main focus. Your combos with the sword are almost identical to Devil May Cry, but also contains finishing moves with thebrutality of a God of War game. If you have ever gotten bored with action games, and you feel like they are too short and linear; or constant puzzles with no satisfying combat has you ripping out your hair; Darksiders satisfies.
This game throws every single great gaming component your way, so you never feel like you're in a rut. Among the close quarters combat and puzzles there are both on rail and 3rd person shooter segments, horse back battles, exploration of USEFUL items, and even gameplay taken straight from Portal.
The story was very satisfying to me, but you have to pay attention. It's a mystery type story, so they don't spell everything out to you until the end. Suffice to say, I want to play the sequel now!
I liked the character you play as even better that Kratos, Dante (Dante's Inferno), and Link. For starters you don't cause all your own problems, or kill the people who matter most to you. Also, War talks........(sorry Link). He's the definition of a serious and brutal hero though. My favorite moment is when a demon on YOUR freakin horse says that he can hardly see you cuz your so tiny, so war promptly cuts off his legs, lifts him to eye level, and impales him...... sigh......
In conlusion, this game is THE gamers game because it has almost every aspect of the games we love all in one glorious package. DONT LISTEN TO THE HATERS!!!!! PLAY THIS GAME!!!!!
