Superb ending to one of the greatest series in gaming

User Rating: 10 | Dark Souls III PC

I raged right up until the last slash at the Soul of Cinder. An amazing rap up to the most amazing series I have had the pleasure of playing. There have only been a handful of experiences as memorable as stepping foot into Darkroot Garden, or first clashing with Iudex Gundyr, or doing the blade dance with the Dancer of the Boreal Valley, or first facing a hydra in a dreary canyon. These along with countless other amazing instances of gaming goodness is why I will miss this series. And oh the raging, so much raging, followed by the satisfaction of victory. That satisfaction being something few other titles can provide.

Few games combined the sharp sense of combat with the utterly engrossing atmosphere that the Souls games brought. This final installment was no exception. Everything about this game was amazing and superbly crafted by the developers. This game just enveloped the imagination of myself and many others every time the game was booted up. It took you off to a fantasy wonderland that only a few other games can come close to. It was the perfect rap up to an wonderful series.

That said; as much as I love this series, I do hope that it stays dead. I read something recently that summed it up perfectly: "you either die a great series or live long enough to see shitty sequels."

Whatever the route the developers choose, I want to say thank you so much for giving us gamers this work of art!
