Easily one of my top five PS2 games!

User Rating: 10 | Dark Cloud PS2

Dark Cloud, while simple, is a great RPG for general audiences. I don't really know why it's rated "Teen" and not "E". It would have probably received the rating "E-10" if that rated existed before Kingdom Hearts. The controls are kind of clunky, which was really my only complaint, but considering the title's age and it's RPG nature, I'll didn't mind that at all. My favorite character was the Cat Girl. She is EASILY the best character in the game, surpassed only by Osmond. He is in fact better in every way, as a full replacement to her, but Osmond is unlocked so late in the game, that I, like most, had already invested too much in Cat Girl to use him. Where the game truly shines, in my opinion, is actually rebuilding the town, as you're given near God-like power, but you're obligated to listen to each individual resident. Each NPC gives you an idea of how you SHOULD go about it, giving you a very nice reward if you get 100% happiness from the residents. For example, the Dog God gives Toan a new special attack if you make the first village happy. Over all, I consider this game a masterpiece, better than Ocarina of Time! But that's just my opinion.
