Responsive controls and quite a number of upgrades make Dante's Inferno interesting.

What is it that makes me interested to play Dante's Inferno I asked myself before deciding to buy this game. I thought it's the idea behind the game, I am always enthusiastic when it comes to old ideas brought out fresh anew, what I mean by this is of course the old classical poem made popular into a video game. Although, of course, apart from its other action game predecessors this game fails to completely stand up as a unique innovation the game play mechanic is somewhat well crafted. I was quite amazed by the responsiveness of the dodge command that can be used to cut between on-going combos. Graphics may not be as smooth as the caliber of God of War however they are quite efficient when it comes to presenting a smooth game refresh rate. With this quality, players are constantly put on their guard watching for incoming attacks to deflect and counter which is quite rewarding (as soon as the skills are unlocked).

Quite a number of upgrades on the screen makes you keep playing for more souls to collect, hunger for new moves players are constantly teased to keep their constant progression of soul gathering or finding secret places where the sinfuls are placed; these poor fellas are ripe to be absolved or to be punished as dante sees fit.

From an artistic point of view, Dante's inferno is appealing to those who are expectant to the visualization of Hell commonly found on popular publications. Although mentioned in many of the pre-release developer diaries and trailers that the stages would be best described as "sick" "gruesome" and "disturbing" the level of atrocity is perfected by the sound effects and the voice acting done to express the 'tormentedness' of the hell bound souls where when at a particular moment dante could literally stop, watch and hear what these pitiable souls are conveying.

Overall, it is another action game that proves itself being a quality game almost as ambitious as its name. It can be compared to many other action games out there that has been previously released, but for certain players who demand responsiveness close or almost equal to the God of War series this game just might be another one to sit on your game collection shelf.
