Graphically amazing, but buggy and unstable. Editing levels to make the single player work = epic fail.

I am going to revisit this review once I complete the whole game but up to this point I have been very disappointed. I followed the development of Far Cry very closely and was rewarded by what I felt was an incredible leap in game play and visuals.

This was the same expectation I had for Crysis - and while the visuals are delivering, the quality is not. AI seems to be unreasonably stupid - constantly getting caught on boxes or my favorite - plowing into each other where a shotgun makes short order of them. Its like watching a horrible asian version of key stone cops.

At this point, I have had to play the "village" level about 8 times - initially because the script triggers kept failing. Once I got that to work - my egress out of the level is filled with rocks. The NPC flails about on a path he cannot pass and I am left wondering how much worse it will get.

I am not going to dispute the obvious strengths of the game - but when I need to go into devmode or launch your editor to clear a path (and then find numerous errors listed in your own published levels...) I am left wondering what sort of quality control we were going for.

As promised - I will revisit this review on completion - but I am playing games to suspend me from the rigors of fixing broken crap in real life... spare me a few visual wonders and deliver a solid effort next time...
