At first, I was a little skeptical about Crysis. What was with all the hype on this game?
My initial thoughts were "So, who cares, it's just another first person shooter with powers - nothing to hype about at all." But I was wrong.

This game isn't 100% aimed upon the graphics, even though it is a graphic tester for GPUs. I found that what I really liked was the game play, storyline and the strategy involved.

You may like to run into battles, guns blazing while jumping around like wild trying to kill everyone, while this is playable and can be done, I prefer stealth. The stealthier method, hiding behind obstacles and in the environment such as in bushes and behind trees. While getting to those positions, stealth mode would become my main option.

Killing was done fairly well. Being the stealthy one, I remained hidden and shot out tactical shots to enemies. These tactical shots would then put an enemy to sleep, allowing you to kill them as they lay on the ground. You could pretty much take down a whole base doing this, everyone falling to the ground sleeping only to be have you melee or silently kill them as you go further into the base to kill the others.

At first, your enemies are Koreans, investigating them for belief of hidden knowledge in advanced technology & aliens. Half way through the game, or so, the game turns from a normal modern day-ish type shooter into a sci-fi shooter, better off saying it was actually a mix of both. Aliens and Koreans were both equal to defeat in my opinion, only the aliens had two l-l4X3l) (haxed) weapons that the Koreans didn't have access to, nor do you. This really didn't matter, just as long as your ready to run around in circles as you fire at them otherwise you'll find yourself frozen and killed. These aliens tend to like the ice ;)

Hint: My favorite gun for taking down Aliens was a Gauss rifle. Worked up a nice 1 shot, 1 kill scenario at close to medium range.

I played for a nice 18hours of the game, At times trying different strategies on specific levels. Scanning the maps for the graphical quality and wide areas. As for re playability, there really isn't any at all. If you finished the game on lets say normal, then you might want to re play on a harder difficulty - that's pretty much all I could think of replaying, for. The storyline and game play is just very well done, an awesome reason to play again however boring to keep replaying the same missions in the exact same way or to have the same storyline played out the exact same way.

Multiplayer I believe is a shame. Huge maps, running around trying to actually kill someone when instead your killed by a vehicle. However if you do get it going, like a proper clan scrim or tactical server then you should be fine. Vehicles always ruin a multiplayer game in my opinion. Crazy powers, crazy vehicles, huge map etc, it just doesn't add up to me. I'd prefer Call of duty, world at war over this - and that spawn was meant to be bad, have cheaper graphics & unbalanced leveling/weapon system.

The game is original in it's structure of gameplay, mechanics and interface. Tactics are a must for me and this game supported it well. Besides the often audio issues, and directx10 crashing which was fixed by using DX9, I must give this game a 9/10 for graphics, original gameplay, story line, interface & structure. 1 mark was taken off for those issues I had and because the game should have been a little bit longer. Single player is where the game shines, not multiplayer.

Hint: To apply DX9, Right click your game shortcut and in the "target" field, at the end add in "-dx9" (without quotes).
