A true classic...

Crash bandicoot is a total and utter classic. The game has a simple storyline: crash escape from N.Cortex's experiment lab, where he is cruelly turning all the islands animals to mindless machines. he then sets off round the island again to stop the evil scientist once and for all! Of course, the game is pretty old now, but it is still one of the most enjoyable games ever released on PS1. most of the levels are side scrolling, but some of the levels see you running into the screen, away from boulders usually, or going into the ditance, across rickety bridges or something similar. This game really will test your jumping skills, as this is what you will be doing most of. and some of the jumps in this game are incredibly taxing, nigh-on impossible, but hey, the challenge is good! The soundtrack to the game is also great, it really adds to the atmosphere, as most of the music is tribal, or something like that. all the music is very laid back, and really helps you to get into the game. there are more things worth mentioning: the bosses in the game are genuinly inventive, and a joy to beat. they range from a psychotic blue kangaroo, to a steroid-overdosed koala bear. brilliant stuff. also, there are a few secrets to be unlocked in this game. gems are awarded for fulfilling certain tasks on certain levels, say for getting every box, or completing a level without dying. this adds some replay value to the game, as they can be incredibly hard to get!
i reccomend you get this game. it might be difficult to find now, but is well worth buying if you do spot it!
