A short review of Condemned: Criminal Origins.

When looking for a horror game, your number one priority should be "is this game going to scare me?". In the case of Condemned, yes. It is. A descent story line motivates you to push on through the scares of this puzzling, ultra-violent fright-fest.
Beginning the game as a detective of some sort, your task is to investigate a psychotic murder scene which totally creeps you out. Due to certain events during this investigation you are forced to go rogue and pursue the serial killer on your own, with the help of a forensic investigator to guide you. The story is interesting and compelling throughout the game, it takes you to various locations and introduces you to strange killers and characters. That is, until the last mission. Unfortunatley this game slows down somewhat towards the end and you find yourself dragging through the last mission in order to get it over with and finish the damn game. This is the only thing keeping Condemned: Criminal Origins from a perfect 10.
Don't worry though, even still the game is worth while and rewarding. There are many memorable moments and ridiculous scares to keep you entertained. The bulk of the game will see you using melee weapons that you pull from the environment such as lead pipes, nail boards and mannequin's limbs. Guns are in the game but there is a very short supply of ammo, forcing you to go through the game predominantly with melee encounters. This is a good thing though! The melee encounters are the most intense fighting sequences I have seen in a game.
This game is definately worth buying if you havn't bought it already, and as a bonus, it should be rather cheap by now!
P.S Beware of Mr. Tibbets! D: 9/10.
