A nasty surprise awaits you.

User Rating: 1 | Command & Conquer: The First Decade PC
If you are running Windows 7 simply forget about this compilation, because instead of twelve games, as promised, you get four.

More specifically:
Command & Conquer and its expansions: The colours of the game are mixed up to a point that it is very annoying to the eye and for this reason the game is hardly playable.

Red Alert and its expansions: The same problem, the colours are all mixed up, and the FMV scenes are a mess.

Renegade: It crashes right from the start.

Generals: It can't even boot, you get an error message.

Generals: Zero Hour: The same as above.

The only games that seem to work fine are:
Tiberian Sun and the expansion Tiberian Dawn,
Red Alert 2 and the expansion Red Alert 2: Yuri's Revenge.
Personally I already own Tiberian Sun and Red Alert 2, so I gained absolutely nothing from this package. And I'm sure most of you already own half of the games, so it's a matter of luck if those games that you are missing are working, or not.

EA has made two patches that supposedly fix the problems of C&C and Red Alert.- the package was incompatible even with the then OS Windows XP! Firstly those two patches, 1.01 and 1.02, for some reason they are nowhere to be found anymore. I was lucky to find them in an obscure site. Secondly, even if you apply those patches, they don't fix anything of the todays problems. There is also an unofficial patch that also doesn't fix anything.

The irony is that before the installation begins you have to type all those countless serial key digits for each game of the package separately (!) only to discover a few minutes later that you can't play almost anything.

I give the lowest possible score to this compilation because of the total indifference that EA showed towards their clients, and namely for not caring to fix all those unsolvable compatibility issues with a patch. The games by their own are classics, everyone knows that, but they are of no use if they don't play!
