I've been playing this game for as long as I can remember. I started when they were on nexon. I remember buying a gun for 25 usd and it would get me kicked from games all the time because of how good it was. So it was pay to win way back in the day but now that its on valofe I had to make a new account and I got the same gun but I earned it with in game currency. Now alot of the guns are either free or you can earn them without spending real money. some things are still exclusively bought with real world money but theres still a huge amount of stuff that isnt.
This game used to run rampant with hackers. I mean like aimbots , god modes, chams. shooting through walls. infinite grenades, melee across the maps. but its toned down now, most people are actually just really good at the game. There might still be a hacker here and there but a lot of times they will get kicked.
The community can be toxic as heck but if you join a good room then the mod will take care of it. There is a really steep learning curve and even after playing this game for years I still mostly stink at it. Im not good at sniping. My kdr is like 0.8. But keep in mind ive had to make multiple accounts.
The maps are mostly pretty balanced but people seem to play a lot of the same ones all the time. Oil rig, snow valley, kill creek, death room, junk flea, costa rican, cold seed. all the levels deserve more attention.
Some modes are kinda weird. Im not a huge fan of quarantine region or spy hunt, or even really elimination pro. It kinda sucks when the daily job requires you to play a mode and then there are no rooms for that mode and nobody wants to join the room you make.
Rewards are pretty common. you get daily log in rewards, rewards for achieving certain daily quotas(get 20 kills, play 4 matches, play for 20 minutes) you get rewards for levelling up but this takes a while. you get rewards in a few other ways but the point is its very rewarding to play.
This game is hugely nostalgic and even when i suck at it its still fun to play. it takes me back to a simpler time like 10 years ago. the design on reloaded is a bit less cluttered than on combat arms classic but i still play that one every now and then too.
Lag can be a big problem and out of 4 laptops ive owned its only ever really ran smoothly on 1. for a simple game it can require a good computer.
I would give it a 7.5 out of 10
