You will be pleasantly surprised at how much you will love this very unappreciated game.

User Rating: 9.5 | Dengeki Big Bang! NES
Gameplay- Clash works with a nonlinear level system letting you work back and forth on a gameboard style map going between stages and gathering items, and money which you can use to buy weapons and various upgrades such as a jetpack or underwater gear. Demonhead is an action/platformer with enemy design similar to Mega Man and human character design similar to Akira Toriyama's (Chrono Trigger, Dragon Ball) art. Clash at Demonhead is a fairly difficult game with a wide variety of all very entertaining levels (or routes as they are called in the game). I really cannot think of anyway that Clash could have better play control, level design or general game mechanics so I am giving it a perfect rating in this area. Story- Provided that you can get past the ridiculous character names (the main enemy's name is Tom Guycott and he looks like a big cartoon skeleton, and happens to be the governor of town), you will have fun with the story in this game. It is simple, yet entertaining and even has an alternate ending. Graphics/Sound- Demonhead has quite possibly the most gripping soundtrack of any NES game. I say this because the music suits the action of the game absolutely perfectly. The music and sound effects are fun and upbeat right along with the storyline and the visuals which really really remind me of Mega Man (series I love) enemies. Coming to the graphics, Clash leaves nothing to be desired, it's as simple as that. Playtime/Replayability- As mentioned previously, there are two separate endings which may give incentive to play the game over (although if you have a password to the near end of the game, this is unnecessary). The sheer amount of fun involved in Clash at Demonhead will give someone more than enough reasons to play it again. The playtime of Demonhead is around 1:30 to 2:00 (this is quite a bit for a NES action game). Final Recommendation- If you want to play an innovative classic action/platform game with a fun twist, by all means play Clash at Demonhead. Demonhead offers a variety of positive aspects from many (good) popular NES action games. If you are looking to get back to the roots of what made videogames so fun and popular, this game will not disappoint you. -Geusprime
