Don't mistake it for a platformer/action/fun game.

Chibi Robo is an adventure game for the Gamecube. Chibi Robo is a small, metallic robot that the parents of a family get their daughter for her birthday, and your objective in the game is to straighten out issues with the family while also cleaning up the house and finding upgrades for Chibi and his friend Telly, a flying TV.

The game is set in the family's house; you can interact with both them and the toys that come alive at night. A lot of these toys are interesting, and they too need things to be done.

Chibi progresses through the game by continuing the story, and to do that you must solve the other characters problems. Often you first need another item to finish a task, and that item could be a reward for another task or is found somewhere throughout the house. Standard Adventure gameplay, really.

The graphics in the game are cute and colorful. None of the graphics will amaze you though.

One of the faults in Chibi-Robo is backtracking. You get tired of looking at the same old house, and unfortunately it takes a long time to get from one place to another. There is combat in the game, but it's actually really simple and boring. You just tap on a button to fire your gun to kill the bad robots. The platforming in Chibi Robo is the highlight of the game, but it only comes in short bursts, once again, thanks to the game's home setting.

Unless you're a fan of strictly adventure games, I couldn't recommend Chibi Robo.
