This is the game, I've been looking for!

User Rating: 10 | Champions of Norrath PS2
Champions of Norrath is simply put amazing, its the exact game that I've been looking for!

Gameplay: It's almost a regular hack 'N' slash, except for the RPG like functions that set it apart, such as the inventory, the different items that actually change your apperance that don't just enhance your stats. Another main asset to this game is character customization, it may be short and not many choices, but you will unlikely end up the same as your friend. You may also, choose to add/remove players at anytime in the game, you can run around hack and slashing or you can take up a quest and go on one of those, which are mostly killing goblins grabbing one quest item and returnigng. You can also, go to shop and buy items, and sell.

Basically you must hit square and x a heck of alot, to attack and pick up the items that spring forth when the enemy dies, also R1 to use your health potions and R2 to use your mana potion.

However, the death is dumb as you must run back to a save point where you will in turn be ressurected, and may save you game. You may however, save you game at anytime. Portals will also be avaliable in dungeons to get you back to certain points faster.

Graphics: Champions of Norrath has pretty good graphics, however the zoomed out view does not allow much inspecting until you go into your inventory, and you can see close up. Which all-in-all is pretty good.

Your swords may have many effects like a rainbow glow, a fiery glow and a icy cold glow, aswell a large part of the graphics for me, as it might not for you is "cool" looking armor, In all the other games I've played I might get one piece of cool armor and the rest is lime green and pink. But, I digress, the graphics are pretty okay and so are the weapons.

The level graphics are pretty good, you can see torches lighting the way, ground textures and stone textures. Aswell as the water graphics is very in depth as the puddles will ripple when you step in them.

Sound and Music: Most of the music in the game is up-lifting and inspiring it makes you not want to stop! I could play this game for hours and hours because of the music, if it was slow and depressing I could probably not play as long.

Most of the sound effects are crisp and rewarding, such as the constant crunch of backs and clank of metal on metal, the grunts of monsters and the occasional, "two-cents" from the player's characters when you either stand idle, or enter a new dungeon.

The Good: Great gameplay, Best game I've played all year, Great up-lifting sound, 4 player compatibility.

The Bad: Buy Multi-Tap if you don't have it, and extra controllers. Constant inventory checks, with more players.

Conclusion: All in All, Champions of Norrath is the best game I've played all year, you have to have friends to play this game and for the cheap price it is now for a "red" title, you can easily afford it. So, simply buy it.
