Castlevania is your current side-scrolling action adventure, can't say it was revolutionary because so many other games were like that at the time. But Castlevania was straight forward. You whip, you walk and you jump... straight in the air. Unless you are moving forward than you have a moving jump. Other than that it was the clumsiest aspect of the game. There are also a few sub-weapons to locate and you use them by pressing "up" on the D-Pad, so expect to throw out a few daggers or holy water as you jump... it's only natural. An those sub-weapons are consumed using a heart counter and those heats are found by vanquishing foes or by breaking a few candles, those candles also drop the sub-weapons and whip upgrades! Other than that all the additional bashing that I would have placed here can be found in my Castlevania GBA edition review!
