If you don't plan on getting every castlevania game ever, you can pass on this one.

When I started playing this, I didn't expect anything ground-breaking, only an improvement upon dawn of sorrow.

Sadly, I don't think that's accomplished, in fact, this game may be worse than dawn of sorrow, so i'll just write about what makes it worse, my review of dawn of sorrow already covers the rest of the game mechanics.

This time you play as two characters, the classic weapon wielder and a girl that does magic. And here's the first problem that the game has...the girl is overpowered.
Yeah, basically, if you play with the guy the game is like any castlevania game, hard. But if you use the girl you can spam spells killing everything in sight, even most bosses.

You can't switch weapons on the fly, which is really annoying because the girl can only use one spell at a time, unless you want to keep on pausing the game, and that really cuts it's potential, it would have been so much fun to be able to switch spells on the fly.

Also lots of enemies are reused from dawn of sorrow, and the plot is really bland and...weird.

I'm not to harsh on the global score of the game because the formula is still fun, it's castlevania after all, but this is the same previous game with a bunch of new things thrown there that aren't even an improvement, I expected lots more.
