A fun game, although it has it's setbacks....

This game is pretty good, but not quite the best I've seen. I had almost as much fun if not more playing Dawn of Sorrow. You play as Shanoa, this witch sort of chick or absorbs glyphs and uses them for all different forms of weapons, magic, and passive abilities. You can equip 2 weapons at once and switch to 3 different sets on the fly, which is sweet, but is offset by the extremely limited amount of times that you can use heart magic. Heart magic draws from your heart count( not your health ) and uses it for a devastating attack which is the combination of the 2 attack glyphs you have equiped. There are many combinations, but they are very underpowered. They use a lot of hearts so you can use this move a couple times and they don't regenerate and they are very hard to get back if you're not at a village. All that kind of makes you feel like a lone fighter in D&D, except more versaitile. Asside from that, the game is hard. The walking around regular enemies are slightly challenging, but the bosses are punishing. You eventually figure out the pattern after a couple of fights however, and you move on, so I don't know why other people complain about the difficulty. It's hard but not to the point that it's like dude the this game is hard if you know what I mean.
The game has 13 or 17 areas or so, and they all contain enemies that have different glyphs to absorb. Each glyph is in its own class like piercing, slashing, blunt, fire, dark, that kind of stuff that are super effective and less effective against certain enemies. Each kill you make, you're profiecency in that glyph class goes up a point or so ( different depending on the enemy ) and overrtime you get more powerful in that class. This is only worthwhile if you get several thousand points in one class, as when you get a point, your profeciencies can go up by hundreds and it won't effect your damage rate ( it goes up that small ).
If this makes any sense, the game is short and long at once. You fly through all the locations pretty fast, but they are small with not much content. They do have their share of detail and hidden items and enemies, but they are still very short. Once you get to the end ( not long from the beginning ) you'll fight Albus, your rival, absorb the final soul dominus, use it, and die. The game ends here, but humanity is saved ( yay ) However, here you find out about all the villagers you didn't find. Find them and you have another 1/3 of gaming to go. You can also do the sidequests of the villagers, but hthey usually don't require more than a couple minutes ( or ridiculous amounts of time if you're required to find rare items ). I rate this game as good, and very fun, but not something you should go seriously out of your way to buy.
