Out of the original three Castlevania games, this one has to be the worst.

User Rating: 5 | Castlevania II: Simon's Quest NES
Simon's Quest is the "Black Sheep" of the old-school Castlevania games. That is not a bad thing. Simon's Quest has a non-linear style to it. That is not a bad thing either. The non-linear style is executed very poorly. It is nearly impossible to find out where to go next. The world design is not designed for a game with the controls of the first Castlevania game. The game intends for the player to dispatch enemies very quickly, which can be difficult (in a bad way) with the choppy jumping and the delayed whip attack. Also, there are only 3 bosses. They are Death, Carmilla's Mask, and Dracula. They are all very easy. Death and Carmilla's Mask are also completely skippable. Also, in order to defeat any of the mansions, you must buy an oak stake from a crooked trader and throw it at an orb. The music is generally agreed upon to be amazing (and I agree), which is to be expected from a game made by Konami.
