Easily accessible, casual downloadable PS3 sleeper hit which will keep players coming back for more!!!
Cash Guns Chaos is a shoot em up arcade-action shooter which is based on the cheesy 70's television game shows with over the top game show hosts and style that would make John Travolta from Saturday Night Live look like he was a fashion god. The game is set up to include 3 seasons with 5 episodes per season. Within each season, there are 3 rounds with an additional bonus round where the main goal is to kill, kill, kill enemies (they're actually aliens in disguise, but shhhh, we won't let them know that we know that) until a cash target is reached per round. Successfully blasting your way through each episode will eventually lead you to a boss episode where the strength of the game really shines out. These bosses are huge, and when I say huge, I mean both in size and outrageousness. OK kiddies, remember that this is a mature rated game, so don't be surprised when you hear about dragons that attack you with raining crap or bearded woman carnies that attempt to slime you with vomit. Yeah, you all heard me right, these bosses will poop, vomit, smash, whip, clobber, you name it, these bosses will do it to simply see you dead. Fortunately your character, which would put John Travolta's style to shame (see fashion god reference above), can be aptly armed to the teeth with weapons like chain guns, gamma guns, rocket launchers, lasers, blasters, and the list goes on. It doesn't stop there! In addition to the large arsenal of weapons, there are power ups that double up your cash collected, make your character run like crazy, add ever so needed armor shards, and so much more. Oh and speaking of armor shards and health, you're gonna need it! This game is HARD!
The 3 difficulty levels, humorously named wuss, cool, and badass (corresponding to easy, normal, and hard) are very well balanced, and believe me, you won't be claiming that you're a badass until you have built up your skill through wuss and cool difficulties. In fact, I proclaimed myself a badass upon first play, but was demoralized and eventually gave in to the angry aliens and pronounced that I needed to play as a wuss, errr, on wuss difficulty. Although you will find that Cash Guns Chaos is a very tough game, it never will never fail to amuse as you replay, and believe me you will, some rounds over and over again. There are always new enemies, weapons, power ups, and tactics that you will want to explore in your game show experience.
Unfortunately, Cash Guns Chaos does not have a multiplayer mode in it, which is rather disappointing, but the sheer number of enemies making you scramble for your life will keep you occupied until multiplayer is seen in the PSP version (coming early 2007). I see this as the only shortcoming in this game, but with a low price point ($9.99) and small download size (a little over 300 MB), I wouldn't expect a full multiplayer component with all the bells and whistles. In fact, I can't think of many downloadable casual PC games that have a multiplayer component in it, which this game is, a downloadable casual action-arcade shooter. The redeeming factor for Cash Guns Chaos is its leader boards. Beat your friend's scores, or beat one of your own. We are, after all, on a game show and everyone knows what the real prize is....to say that you're the, "BEST AROUND"!
Cash Guns Chaos isn't for anyone...it's for everyone, well, if you surpass the mature rating age. This downloadable title for the PS3 will keep players wanting to come back for more and more as they fight their way through countless swarms of alien enemies ranging from Wild West gunslingers to Asian school girl groupies. In addition, the wide range of themes will keep you engrossed in places like a circus big top and on the high seas with pirates. Cash Guns Chaos is definitely worth a download and won't break your budget. If it does break your budget, then check out the free downloadable demo for the game. Either way, get this game! This is the sleeper hit for the first generation downloadables for the PS3 and will no doubt be a hit for generations to come!
