War never changes, neither does this sequel.

Whenever I make an attempt to carry on a conversation about games, it always somehow redirects to this game, so I decided to try it out. Once I tried it out, my initial reaction was "hey this is kind of cool." Then later it became clear that this game is nowhere near as good as I thought it would be.

The campaign's storyline seemed incredibly clichéd and unrealistic, which if I remember right, this game was prided on it's realism, right? The characters had next to no development and you could really care less when a teammate would fall in the line of action. By far the best part is the ending, which to me was more unsatisfactory than Mega Man IV's ending.

The special operations mode had more of an arcade-ish feeling to it, which is cool(case-in-point Ace Combat 4). But the majority of the levels are rehashed from the single player.

Ah, the multiplayer, this is where all the praise is, except for this review. As far as I'm concerned the multiplayer excels at one thing, pissing people off. This is where the games "realism" gets torn up and thrown away. I'm sure if you've played the game the game you know the basics, but there are several things I'd like to point out.

1.) How can anyone take a 7.62x39mm caliber round to the face and survive?

2.)How can a bolt-action sniper rifle beat anything at close range?

3.) How can I fire a shotgun point-blank at someone, and the shot completely misses?

4.)How can a jet bomb a city, yet the buildings and scenery (except for some glass) are completely unscathed?

5.)How does blood spatter in your eyes when getting shot in the leg?

And thats just grazing the surface. If you haven't played this, be warned.
