Bulletstorm is one of those games that takes the concept of killing bad guys in a stylish manner to a whole new level. Forget the story, this is about scoring points for getting inventinve with killing your foes...literarly.

The whole concept of the game revolves around scoring "Skillshots" with every kill. In fact, the points you score are what's used to upgrade your weapons and purchasing ammo. You score extra points by kicking your foes into cacti, grabbing them with a leash and impaling them, tossing them into live electrical wires, and so much more. There are a TON of different "Skillshots" to master, many are even weapon specific.

The story takes a backseat to the core concept unfortunately and is mostly forgetable. Something about seeking revenge against a bad guy that set you up for a fall after crash landing on an alien planet...blah, blah, blah.

The set pieces in the game are very inventive as well, everything from escaping a giant rolling wheel, to controlling a godzilla, to kicking a huge hulking alien into helicopter blades.

Graphically, the game is gorgeous as well and there's hardly a slowdown even with many enemies on screen with a ton of bullets flying around.

Multiplayer partners you up with other players to kill bad guys, similar to Horde Mode in Gears of War 2.

Bulletstorm is an excellent game that doesn't try to hide it's concept with an overcomplicated story. It's a blast to play through and contains plenty of watercooler moments and should be enjoyed by any first person shooter fan. The fanatics who strive for perfection will also enjoy attempting to unlock every available "Skillshot" in the game...good luck.
