A great introduction to the Bubsy serie

Bubsy in Claws Encounters Of The Furred Kind (that I will call Bubsy 1) is a 1993 platform game developped by Accolade.

This game is pretty enjoyable to me. The graphics really look nice and with a lot of cartoony animations and it's a great introduction to the Bubsy franchise.

I really love the level design, which is really similar to Sonic (just like the entire game), with a level design that isn't too labyrinthic but not really linear, the ennemies are not too much annoying and the music is fantastic.

Wow, it looks like this game is almost perfect...but no.

First off: the physics. Oh my god the physics. It seems like you have some weird momentum that push you back. And also...one hit and you're dead, which is a very VERY bad game design choice, considering almost everything (even a chew-gum machine) can kill you ! Also, for now I didn't mention the falling damages, but I don't think they're really that bad or annoying, while it's unique, it doesn't really add anything to the game since you can just avoid it by gliding. And the powerups are extremly differents ! There's the black T-Shirt which protect you from the ennemies' attack, and then there's the T-shirt with a yellow exclamation point, which protect you from the ennemies' attack.

But Bubsy 1 is still a pretty good game, that, like I said, have a lot strong point, like the level design and the levels themselves, with a fantastic soundtrack and good enough ennemies... and then there's the bosses.

The bosses are either boring or boring. They're aren't very difficult and you can defeat them in like 7 seconds, even the final boss !

In general, Bubsy 1 is just a nice game that I recommend you playing.
