This game rocks! Literally! Check out all the good and bad in this new metal adventure from the legendary Tim Schafer.

User Rating: 9 | Brutal Legend X360
Brutal Legend is flatout amazing. Any metalhead would be easily pleased. Here's a breakdown of this rocking game.
Graphics: 8/10. Been there seen that. The graphics are nothin special, but they aren't bad. Enough to not make you go ewwwww, but not enough to sit and absorb it for 20 minutes. I will say though, that the monuments look incredibly good.
Sound: 11/10. This game has the best soundtrack I have ever heard. Better than Guitar Hero or Rock Band any day. The actual game SFX are also very well executed. They have all types of metal from Glam Metal to Black Death Metal. Not really a fan of the Death Metal genre, but the NWOBHM, Hard Rock, Classic Heavy Metal, and Bay Area Metal are the best in the bigs. This game has made me a fan of many bands such as Crimson Glory, Man-O-War, 3 Inches of Blood, and has introduced me to new Ozzy Osbourne songs like Diary of a Madman. THEY CAN'T STOP US METAL TRIBE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Story: 11/10. OK before you guys ask I am only giving 11's because they are the best I have ever heard/played in any game I have ever played. The story is elite and will make you feel sorrow when something bad happens and will make you feel joy when you defeat a mortal enemy. After the game I was left clinching my teeth asking for more. Lets hope to the almighty Metal Gods and Ormagodden they make a Brutal Legend 2.
Story Length: 8/10. The story length was quite average. Didn't time myself or anything, (who would do that?!) but I'm estimating at about 16 hours to beat the campaign on normal. Definitely worth your while to beat the story.
Multiplayer: 8/10. Very hard to get at first until you learn in the story, stage battles are a main part of the story and is the whole multiplayer concept. You can play against an AI with some friends (didn't get to try this feature out as none of my friends have this game), private match, and ranked match. The game runs on a trueskill base so you should never get matched up with someone that is incredibly better than you. On to the actual multiplayer process. Stage Battles are like an RTS game in which you can fight as well. You can use your solos to summon your vehicle and the Tainted Coil even produces units with solos. Everything except for solos requires fans. Fan Geysers are spread around the map and you start with 1 or 2 depending on the map. All geysers are originally being protected by a giant leech that only your soldiers can damage and get off of the geyser. You command your troops using 4 commands. Defend, Attack, Follow, and go to the beacon you can set using LB which can serve as a rally point until you set a global rally point using one of the solos. The actual factions are Ironheade, Tainted Coil, and The Drowning Doom. Ironheade are head-on attackers that are the protagonists in the main story and is the only faction that you play as in the story. Tainted Coil are the support and power type of people because of the fact that they can summon units on the field, and then when you upgrade them all the way they have the most destructive units in the whole game. The Drowning Doom are the rushers and swarming type of people. All of their units are relatively weak, but they can be made quickly and inexpensively and when in large numbers are devastating.
Overall: 9/10. This game is an amazing adventure that will make you stop and think of the story and all of the good and bad things. The story is gripping and has lots of backstory that will make you think of all the souls in the whole brutal world. This game will leave you in the midst of an amazing story and make you never turn back. As always Happy Playing and Rock On!!! :)
