The saddest military shooter I've ever played.

User Rating: 8.5 | Brothers In Arms: Hell's Highway PS3
Brothers in arms: Nothing special. But sure as hell is sad. I'm going to be covering all basic areas that I go through with all my other reviews; Gameplay, Sound, Graphics, Story, and Multiplayer. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the review.

Story: The story of this game is very interesting. You play as Baker, a some-what depressed captain who lost most of his men on D-day. That's all I know about it. That's one of the flaws this game has. There are so much references to the past games, I thought I would have to run to Gamestop and buy all the other games just to know what the heck was going on! The instruction manual tries to get the newbies caught up with little biographies of each of the main characters, but still. The could have done better. Maybe they could've did what Infamous 2 did. Make a cutscene at the beginning to get everyone who hasn't played the other games (including me) caught up! Anyway, if you've haven't played the other games, you'd basically be playing through the game not knowing who anyone is. Even though I didn't know anything about the series, I did feel sad when some of the characters were dying. Especially when Pieter (or however you spell) died on the attack at that poland city (don't criticize me about not knowing any of the cities and names. I could google them later). It WAS interesting how they made you feel the way that Baker was feeling when everyone was dying. But, don't get me wrong, but what happened after pieter died was unnescessary. I was about to cry when he died, but it made me jump sometimes when they flashed a picture of his dead face in a split second.

Sound: I don't really have much to say about the soundtrack, because I barely hear it! Is it just me or do they barely play any music?

Graphics: Once again, I don't have much to say. Except that the graphics aren't "unbelivable" or anything like that. There are some problems with distance in cutscenes, though. And some texture pop ins.

Gameplay: The way they put mechanics here is somewhat unique. I've never seen a game so focused on strategy then this game. The supression meter isn't that realistic, but it helps. Especially if you use the map efficiently to great effect.

Multiplayer: There isn't that much to marvel here. It isn't Call of Duty type multiplayer where everything can be customisable. But it also isn't 'you get one gun and only one gun.' The maps aren't that varied. It is cool how they have mini objectives placed out by a squad leader. The tanks are also cool to control. When they're not glitching out due to too many rockets hitting the tank at the same time.

Verdict: 85 out of 100
