Bravely Default 2 has not improved enough over the years.

I loved the original Bravely Default. Either Default to block and save attacks or be BRAVE and attack. It added a neat tactical twist to the classic RPG formula. Bravely Default ll makes no improvements to the system. Being the 3rd entry in the game you would think they would of upgraded their game. However, this is not the case. Instead you have outdated graphics and I know the game is going for a 90's look but I would counter that by telling people to check out what Octopath Traveler did, because they nailed it! My biggest complaint isn't the predictable story, the outdated graphics, it's the GRIND and the CHARACTER CLASSES. When I read the review and the grind was getting criticized, I thought... it can't be that bad. Well, Oh Yes, it can!! The grind is so bad that this is how it plays out. You can defeat regular enemies as easy as pie. As soon as you get to a boss battle it's so unbalanced. I mean seriously, it's SO UNBALANCED. The bosses DESTROY you. I've been playing RPGS for over 20 years now and I've played a variety of games with challenges, this is not a challenge, it's cheap and unfair and requires HOURS of repetitive fights to level up in order to defeat the boss. I tell everyone reading this review, DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS GAME, there are so many other games that instead of just amping up a boss's damage and health bar, requires actual tactical combat to win and some intelligence. The character classes you unlock in the beginning are horrible. I didn't want to be a MONK but I choose to anyway. Then I unlocked a THIEF, I hate THIEVES. And the Bard wasn't terrible, but i wanted some more variety in magic and sword wielding offensive classes off the bat. So I had a White Mage, Black Mage, Monk and Swordsman and the bosses wrecked me. The 2nd boss took me forever on casual because I refused to grind. I went in there at level 15 and kept getting destroyed, using so many items and wasting my time. Then, after the 2nd boss, I went into the town to complete the story and I was confronted with another boss that had about 30K health. My characters did about 200-400 damage each turn. Yes, this battle was drawn out and in the bosses 2nd phase, he destroyed me yet again. This is when I decided to just uninstall the game. I'm not wasting countless hours leveling up just for a typical boss fight. The boss fights in this game are SO UNBALANCED!!!! NOT FUN!!!! HARD PASS!!!!
