Erm, just read this review. This game is nuts!

User Rating: 8.2 | Bratz: Rock Angelz GBA
Ok well this is the most "interesting" GBA game I ever did play. Well except Speedball 2 but that was interesting in the crap way. This actually isn't!

Graphics:
Just regular old GBA graphics. The Bratz™ don't particularly look any different, except the blonde one, cos she's blonde haha. Oh and each one has a slightly different skintone, just to be equal :D. The settings are erm, repetitive. London seems to be full of warehouses and holes in the floor, but that's just weird. In multi storey buildings each floor is identical except maybe a plant is replaced by boxes. But it doesn't stop there! You'll find most people in, well anywhere are almost all identical twins, and almost all female. I think the only guys you ever see are the guys who tag along to London and a bouncer and a guitar player in the street, but he's for later! The furniture you buy (or that's in any room actually) could be better because it looks flat, and somehow manages to move itself if you leave a room, but I'll talk about that in gameplay! Erm, there's not a lot to say about graphics but they didn't suck which is quite a shock cos this game isn't exactly high profile, it's more like high profit!

Story:
A somewhat messed up storyline, let me run you through it! it all begins with one of the BRATZ™ doing what seems to be work experice at a magazine (yet it's just a room covered in pink, no presses or computers, not like REAL journalism) for their rivals...boss? Or mother? I'm not sure but whatever and then you get fired cos your rivals buy her a burger for lunch instead of whatever healthy crap she usually eats and blames YOU! OH NO, CRY! Anyway so obviously, you and your friends decide to make a rival magazine in the building. What you don't see in the story is them applying for office space in the same building as their rivals (yeah clever location for rival magazines..) but somehow, the little BRATZ™ manage to get a room which also lacks proper magazine making stuff. Their first port of call is to do a fashion shoot (did I hear somebody say typical girly game? Well you're right!) but it's in london for an unknown reason. The BRATZ™ don't book flights, hotel rooms or anything, but they still manage to get there, these girls eh! Oh yeah before you go to London you get 2 boys to go, you wanted 3 to go, but oen couldn't cos of work or something. And this is where you encounter your first...
MINIGAME (a lame excuse for one at that!)
You press A to put ice cream into the right glass as it slides along at a snails pace. Easy and incredibly boring! You get some "bling bling" (the currency, obviously!) for doing it which you can spend on things such as, you guessed it, clothes! (And hairstyles, well I use that in plural but you can actually only buy one), anyway yes so you go to London, wooh. One very quick plane ride into London means you do all sorts of remedial tasks such as buying furniture for your own hotel room (Obviously the hotel staff don't mind this?) and a souvenir of the London eye (decent, oh no wait it's not decent at all) and buying more, yes more clothes. Meanwhile the blonde one gets a date with Prince Nigel and then leaves him cos he reckons her mates are common! I dunno where he got that idea they don't look like slags or anything...yeah so youl eave him and one of your rivals gets him, but she falls off a balcony anyway. Oh but she doesn't get hurt or die, her nose falls off (it tends to do that throughout the game). SO! You might be thinking "WOAH" I was expecting more minigames for my money in this quality BRATZ™ game! And you get some in London, wow! These include:
Listening to a dog bark and choosing which one made the noise (WOW!)
A really bad dance stage rip off with a single track to play (GASP!)
Taking photos of shooting stars, DURING THE DAY! (AMAZING!)
And...fashion mix and match (SUPERB!)
Plus 1 or 2 more. There's 9 in total, wow, 9, it's almost a collection!

SO! Anyway during your stay in London your rivals come to rumble your photo shoot and don't actually try except they steal your tickets to a show (which you didn't buy, they wouldn't want you to do something) and you don't get them back OH NO! But you look for them, by sweeping up mess nonetheless! But what's this, no fashion shoot in sight you go buy more clothes (at ridiculous prices so you have to play the minigames loads, get that A button ready!) to try and look like a rock band!

YES A ROCK BAND! The games name may suggest this would be the majority of the game, but, again, it's not. You dress like one, get let into the gig you lost tickets for only tofind the band didn't show up, oh no! So the club manager asks if the BRATZ™ could do a gig, and obviously as you're skilled in music AND fashion you agree. Now you may think WOW! So now you get a career, right? WRONG. You play a gig (Press the buttons when it says, not just the A button!) and it's easy as anything. And then the credits roll. Somewhat of an anticlimax, this is the end of the game, you get to be a rock band for 5 minutes (no matter what the games name ROCK ANGELZ suggests, except bad spelling) and then it's over. You can explore the town after and buy things you didn't, but it's pointless cos if you talk to somebody after you've done a "FASHION CHANGE" you go back to the default clothes anyway.

So, after getting carried away with the story/gameplay there, gameplay was actually really good. But I probably only enjoyed it because of the randomocity factor, I doubt if I wasn't such a crazy person who get's kicks out of things like this I'd have liked it, in fact any normal person (except 8 year old girls) would hate it. But I give it a big fat 10 because I loved every minute of it. All 1 night's worth of them.

Sound:
Squeaky, noisy and most often turned off by me (but some minigames need it, shame) but it was a disgraceful excuse for sound. No voices either, disappointment city! Even the rock concert sound was crap! it was an obvious loop of cheering and some synth music!

Controls:
PRESS A, PRESS A. It's the most effective use of the A button I ever did see! But in all seriousness the Dpad works well for control much like the Megaman games (as it's all isometric). When "skateboarding" (on a pink and blue skateboard a guy gave you which is a worrying choice of colour scheme) it's pants. Don't press L1 to get on it, or you'll orobably go slower than running. Sorry, not running, walking fast. There's no running animation. Controls in minigames are mostly A related, except one or 2, but they work well anyway.

Overall:
As I said, I wouldn't have enjoyed this if i wasn't me. But as I am me, I loved it so this score may seem high, but come on, this game is good for a laugh. And it does actually take some skill to get through a door sometimes as it doesn't recognise you're there so you have to go back and try again, oh those crazy BRATZ™! This game is nuts!

Summed up in 4 words:
BRATZ™, laugh at it
