Borderlands 2; I didn't really know what to think of it when I heard of it, honestly. When I got it, however...

Once upon a time, I played Borderlands. The game was good; great humor, story, and DLC. I played Borderlands for around 170 hours and absolutely fell in love. I was unsure what to think of a sequel, though. I was late on getting Borderlands 2, as I had other priorities. The game was around $60 on steam, and I wasn't ready to make that commitment if I was unsure about a game. However, I had put together $50 and I saw the price for Borderlands 2 had dropped to $40. I had the games I wanted, so I decided "why not?".

When I first opened up the game, it was really interesting. The title screen threw me off, thinking this game wasn't going to be nearly the same as the original. When I started playing it, however, my love for Borderlands ignited again. The game had throw me a curve ball, but I'd caught it directly in my glove. It was awesome. Not only are four new characters available, but you get to meet the original four Vault Hunters! The game play was awesome. Though the multiplayer on Borderlands was stale, Borderlands 2 completely revamped it and even added staking weapons.

What I thought was really interesting was the Eridium. Buying upgrades on the original Borderlands was very simplistic, put your money in and there you go. In Borderlands 2 you have to go through a series of tasks and defeating monsters to earn them. Though sometimes it took awhile, it was definitely worth it in the end. This game kept me actively engaged and kept me guessing what would happen next. They even came up with more original DLC that made the game more enjoyable.

Sadly, there's plenty of ways to cheat money, items, and even characters. Those also existed on the original, but, I'd prefer if they were fixed. Borderlands 2 also introduced a new realm of customization. On the original, it was very simplistic and primitive. On Borderlands 2, however, there were many options to choose from. I like the idea of earning items to customize with, as well, it adds a sense of pride when you work hard and earn a cool skin you can brag about ...not that I do that.

Overall, this game was a great pleasure to play and definitely worth that $40. I don't regret buying it at all. If you haven't tried this game, you are surely missing out! If you can manage to scrap together $40, put this at the top of your priority list.
