A nice multiplayer party game with a forgettable and hard "history" mode.

Bomberman. One of those series that is extremely fun to play with friends, and one in which every match could be very competitive. You need to have in mind that the strong point of the Bomberman franchise is it multiplayer component, and Bomberman World for the PS1 isn't an exception.

Bomberman World includes three game modes:

The normal mode (single player) is hard and, sometimes, punishing, to the point that it may provide you with more frustration than fun. Only hardcore players will get to see the final credits.

The challenge mode provides some quick fun, but it's over before you can notice. Maybe they could have expanded this a bit more.

The battle mode (multi player) is where the game really shines and provides hours of fun, especially if you're playing with friends. A bunch of characters and stages awaits for you to try, while you're exploding things and avoiding the fire of your opponents. To resume, classic Bomberman.

Graphic and sound wise, the game isn't a marvel, neither a total mess. Just average.

At the end, is a fun multiplayer experience, although it's not the best that the series can offer.
