They did as well as they could with the boating theme. While that's not saying much, it does have it's fun moments.

Blood Wake really wasn't on my wish list (then again, neither was an Xbox). It was one of those games where you look through the el cheapo section, see it and say, "What the heck." I took it, pluged it in and was actually impressed.....for a while. The gameplay was at the best a good. The controls got frustrating at times and when your boat toppled over you might as well have been dead. However, once in a blue moon, there would be moments that were actually kind of neat! You'd hit a wake, fly up into the air and out of the coner of the screen, you see your torpedo hit its mark and it actually made for some rather fun moments. However, like I said, there was usually more frustration instead of enjoyment. The graphics were pretty good. No extreme detail but I wouldn't expect that in such a game where there isn't much time to look around. The water and explosions were pretty neat looking. Not a whole lot to talk about the sound. The music wasn't all that spectacular which was kind of a let down. There isn't much too the game. You run around and sink boats which is fun in theory but not all that fun in this game at least. I enjoyed some of it. There are points in the game that I wondered if the game designers intended you to actually beat. In the end I thought it was alright. I felt that they were really on to something with this boating idea and that with a few more months worth of tweaking could have turned it into a really enjoyable game. While it's definitely not a killer APP worth buying an Xbox alone for, if you have a Box rent it and see what you think. You might actually like it.
