This game is being completely under-rated. It provides plenty of thrills and fun filled experiences.
Some people say that the Mecha Suit is extremely clunky and slow. Well, all i can really say is.. it's a Robot Suit! Of course it's not as agile and easily moving as you normally are. I've still found it to be extremely fun to use, but at the same time not overpowered. Some of the most fun moments i've had in the game are when both teams had a mech suit, and we were fighting it out.
A user here talked about how the HRV made the game extremely easy. Please excuse my language, but are you retarded? How can it make an Online FPS any easier? Everyone is still on the same playing field. What the HRV Does do it make it impossible to be lost in the maps. There's nothing worse then taking a walk through the entire map to not see a single person. It also stops people from hiding and picking people off. It's largely made it impossible to do long-term camping, a problem which many current FPS games have. It also makes the game very fast paced, and adds a huge tactical edge. You can see you enemy, and he has probably een you. You simply Must learn how to get around your enemies sight, or else you'll easily be picked off. This sense of constantly being watched on makes it very satisfying when you do well.
Another complaint people have is with the temporary guns. I don't think it's a problem, really. I play maybe 1 or 2 matches every day, and i buy the guns that last 1 day. I always make more money in the two matches then it costs me to buy the gun. Also, the guns are completely customizable, which is extremely fun.
Blacklight retribution doesn't seem to have problems with any hit-detection(Unlike some Extremely popular FPS games). You hit people when you think you will, end of story.
The graphics in this game are fantastic as well. Inf act, i'd be willing to say that it has some of the best graphics i've seen on a Free to play FPS game, period.
Why Gamespot gave this game a 6.5, i have no idea. It has many characteristics which make it much more enjoyable then other games such as Call of Duty. Another note here, this game resembles CoD more then it does Battlefield. This is simply because it has that same fast-paced shooting style. Personally, i find that this game far surpasses many other PC FPS games that i've seen, in Gameplay and in Graphics.
