So under the radar, a big sleeper for the PS2.

BLACK was well done, it was a fun tactical, stealth game that kept your attention and interest. It was so under the radar, for instance it was out on the Classics shelf before I even knew it existed. The detail level on the guns and ammo was of the best i've ever seen in a game. Each discarded shell either flickered in the light as it flew through the air, or pinged as it hit the pavement. The barrel flares from each shot casted a quick shadow, as well as jerked appropriately depending on gun to gun. Each gun had it's own tendered sound and pitch, you can tell they really did their homework on this one. The amount of detail atteneded to on the guns and effects of the guns (like the blurred vision when you reload) was outstanding. So much so that it kinda superseded the graphics in the rest of the game. There were very few areas of this game that actually NEED improvement. I would say the option to skip the cut scenes would be appreciated. Your opponents bodies, pieces of buildings and nature were in need of a little tuning up. But the real big thing that I would like to see in BLACK II would be a Co-Op mode. I think the game was fantastic as is, I loved it, I'd recommend it and have recommended it. If there was a Co-Op mode, it would make it even better (not that I'm complaining). None of that Battle Mode only stuff either, a real Co-op game, start to finish. That would be ideal. All in all, a good game.
