Creatively Deep RPG Grind

User Rating: 9 | Biomutant XONE

*Note* Now, I am one of those completionist gamers. I make sure that I complete the game regardless of how long it takes me. So I will say my grade is biased because of this trait. Unlike the big names in game reviews, I disagree with the vast majority out there.

Biomutant clearly took time and passion to create. The game is very good about introducing you to the game mechanics and allowing you to create your own furry warrior. I find the RPG aspect of the game to be truly what you want in any RPG. Customization to the peak of consoles capabilities, and your imagination. Building your character is even a bit challenging because of not knowing what stats are really that important. For instance, on my first play through I found that persuade is quite easy to perform even with low stats. I figure this may be patched, but it was good to know simply because it allowed me to build my warriors strength and agility.

I found the missions were somewhat repetitive, but that is going to come with majority of all RPG's. This was the major criticism I had about the game, missions that were very similar and prolonged because of the location on the map. This is a small criticism in regards to the overall gameplay.

Biomutants fighting mechanics are smooth enough that you can get a real sweat grind going. I recommend figuring out the three easiest combos you can do, and learn them immediately. It will allow you to take out mini bosses much faster. I really enjoy the combat and felt that it was a great feel for a post apocalyptic title. Showing the melee aspect really made you get into the game. Firearms are lifesavers in many cases, so be very aware of your firearm and make sure it is upgraded at all times.

When it comes to customizing weapons, Biomutant takes the cake. You can modify and create your very own weaponry to the point that your weapon can be a banana handle with a rocket hammer. The whacky creations you can come up with, really will make for a unique play-through multiple times. Focusing on my Melee weaponry for majority of my first play-through made me realize how important it is to keep your weapons upgraded with each piece of loot.

Overall, I am very impressed with this title. I found the reviews to be distasteful and I wanted to give my points to sway others into getting this title if you enjoy RPG's that allow you to create your own character on every level. I strongly recommend this title and am on my second play-through already. Very much worth the $60.
