Although light on plot and graphics, innovative, rapid-fire gameplay makes this a must for GC.

Although not the most "adult" of games, the cel-shading and ludicrous storyline allow you to float from the sublime cutscenes to the ridiculously fast-paced plot, and play what is essentially a better-than-average WW2 shooter without all that dangeroous mucking about with "what really happened in history" (you'll see what I mean when you get there).

The confident implementation of an innovative control scheme, though, is what really shines through for this title. Provided at the beginning of each battle with battalions of battle-hardened troops, you must use real-time tactical planning (a la Ghost Recon and SWAT) in order to maneouvre your troops to victory. You think you've heard all this before, right?

Wrong.

What is new here is that now you can BE your troops (a la Rise and Fall). You can drive that tank over the hill to flank the already-harassed enemy. You can fly fighter and strafe the enemy supply convoy. You can weald that flamethrower and dish out some serious Pwnage!!!

In short, this is a game for those of you who are looking for something familiar but different and are not bothered by "kiddie" graphics and a lack of gore. But then you knew that, or you wouldn't support Nintendo...
