The gameplay is average, but on coop mode, its a different story. this is one of the Batman games that lets you battle and team up the so called crime fighting duo with arsenal of gadgets. the fighting style is like Mortal Kombat and, and its a great advantage at that time since MK is popular in the mid 90's, so MK fighters can still use their skills in this game, basically it adds audience. In the battle mode where you can battle four people together in the practice room, it's really a very challenging mode. the controls are a bit stiff in this game like MK, the replay value of the game is not quite good, thats common in beat-em up games. this game is meant for coop mode, it's really difficult in a single player mode. the graphics are well done, its like Mortal Kombat and Donkey Kong combined. you see rivers in the city in the pale moon light and swinging light bulbs in dark places. The sounds fit well like what Batman is by Tim Burton style, you hear church bells combined in the music and dark background with photographic detail.

you can do more moves in this game like grabbing the oponents head and bash them, MK uppercuts on flying foes, cooperative moves like multiple sweeps, grabbing a foe with multibple uppercuts from the partner, trapping a foe with straight jabs, yeah these are all the stuffs you need to know to finish the game.

the value is just right, difficulty usually takes more time and adds lifespan of the game, so it adds gameplay hours like the virtual loading times like the "hold on" text. if you are a Batman fan, then this game should have a value from average to great.
