Pay attention game developers, this is how it should be done!

Wow, after nearly a decade with brand after brand being raped and put into a cheap plastic container which is then sold as an excuse for a game, a developer truly manage to capture some true magic and make all the disappointments worthwhile.

In my reviews I tend to point out that most modern games are so linear they are almost a pain to play, at least if you are anything like me and enjoy freedom to do what you like in a game. Levels packed with invisible walls and scripted story triggers has been the trend for a long time, and most people just flush it all down with a can of I-just-care-about-the-multiplayer-anyways.

But finally we see a game that shines when it comes to freedom. Go anywhere you want, from street level to the top of a skyscraper in a second. You truly do feel like some sort of superhero as you swing from rooftop to rooftop.

I also applaud the game for it's intelligence, and approach to strategy. You can play like a run and gun redneck and just try beat up anyone in your path, but only when you start thinking like the Batman you will truly excel at the art of staying alive and winning this game. It has a myriad of different approaches, including my favorite stealth type of game where you sneak around and take out one enemy at a time, listening to them becoming more and more nervous while shooting at shadows around them.

Plenty of side missions, challenges and bonus material will keep this game alive long after you finish the main story. You will also enjoy the long range of new gadgets and special moves to play with. There is just so much to explore in this game, it is truly impressive.

But what am I doing here writing this, I should go back to Arkham and find a way to disable the Penguin's freezer gun! :D
