Good dance game, gets out of the repetitive gameplay of the DDR series

User Rating: 9.1 | B-Boy PS2
I'm proud to present B-Boy, a new PS2 game, developed by FreeStyleGames, Ltd and Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) (with the colaboration of Criterion Software -known for the Burnout series- and Swordfish Studios -of Cold Winter fame-). With just looking at the box, you would think that is another dance game that we see lately (the DDR and Pump It Up series come to mind). But this game has different things: it isn't a dance game, it's a breakdance game. The music is all hip-hop, instead of those stupid pop songs of DDR. The gameplay now is some kind of difficult. You move the character. You do the moves. We have the duels, not the thing of dance-until-you-lose-or-the-song-finishes. Just like the B-Boys (and B-Girls) do. You have two modes: Livin' Da Life (or Story Mode) where you can select a B-Boy or B-Girl and help him (or her) to go to the street scene to the most important scene. Like in Def Jam: Fight for NY, but this time the clothes are FREE! Yeah, like you read: free clothes. For unlocking the new clothes, you just need to do the sponsor challenges. The only company that i had knew was Adidas (like in The Warriors). I didn't knew about the other companies. Something extremely knew is that the game was COMPLETELY developed in the UK (that record company, Dopeammo -WTF?- is from UK. Swordfish and Criterion are from UK. There is a stage called "UK Champs" that, well, i don't need to explain it. Anything else?) The other mode is Arcade Mode. I don't need to explain that, too. In the end, the game is very good. Check out the good and the bad of the game

THE GOOD:A new style of dancing games, good graphics and sound. Ah! I forgot about the appeareance of Crazy Legs

THE BAD:The learning curve is a little bit hard to learn
