Polished mix of AC3 and Black Flag. Worth buying and playing.

User Rating: 9 | Assassin's Creed Rogue PS3

Similar to BF but much better rendered and smoother mechanics. Uses some places set from AC3 and BF. If you have not played either of those than I recommend Rogue instead. Not a lot new from BF, but much better written and produced. The main complaint seems to be that there is not much new, however, it is a good connection between the other two games, and I enjoyed it. I think it was overpriced only because of the lack of a MP, however it is now available for $20. Ubisoft did the right thing in not offering MP since there was probably nothing new they could offer seeing as it is similar to ACBF in mechanics. It takes a lot of time and money to create the worlds in these games and I don't believe it would have been a good move to release this as a DLC since it is a great game in on its own and it is now only $20.

If you enjoy AC games than this is essential and enjoyable and stays true to the theme of placing Templars and Assassins in the key events that shaped modern civilization from the rise of the Assassins, to the renaissance, the colonization of the new world, the American Revolution, the French Revolution, and now the Industrial Revolution. I predict Ubisoft producing an AC with a return to Turkey and the Ottoman Empire before the start of WW1, the post civil war expansion into the American wild west, or a prequel involving the Mongolian eradication of the Assassins. AC Rogue fits into this program and is well worth the time. I purchased this at a discount to play while waiting for Syndicate and I was pleasantly surprised. I give it a 9.
