Happy Halloween from the Silent Hill development team.

Silent Hill: Ascension, a Silent Hill interactive series, premieres tonight with its first episode. It's not a traditional Silent Hill game, but an experience where where audience members decide the fate of the characters in the story. It starts with mystic community leader Rachel Hernandez performing a cult ritual on a new member, Joy Cirelli. Then, players take the wheel after that goes wrong.

All you need is an internet connection and a free Silent Hill: Ascension account to participate in the latest Silent Hill "game." You can sign up on mobile with the app (see the Genvid website or search online) or on desktop from Ascension.com. It's a free, so you won't need to pay to participate. You can pay for cosmetics that change your appearance in the chat and leaderboards, and even participate in cameo contests to appear in the show, though.

Genvid will host a Silent Hill: Ascension pre-show starring Greg Miller and Kinda Funny along with Silent Hill creators. The Silent Hill: Ascension Interactive Series will debut an hour and a half later. These are the times to keep in mind for tonight's premiere:

  • Pre-Show hosted by Kinda Funny: 4:30 PM PT / 7:30 PM ET
  • Interactive Silent Hill Ascension Series: 6 PM PT / 9 PM ET

Silent Hill: Ascension is a series, so this is only its first episode. It continues with other episodes and decisions, all of which allow at least 24 hours to respond. That way, fans around the world can participate in the outcome of the story.

"Audiences will experience SILENT HILL: Ascension for the first time tonight and we have no idea what choices they will make, or how it will end," said Jacob Navok, CEO of Genvid. "It’s a perfect time for Halloween where the community will shape this one-of-a-kind horror series over the course of the next several months."

If you want to learn more about the inspiration behind Silent Hill: Ascension, you can watch the pre-show from the Silent Hill: Ascension app, Ascension.com, or Kinda Funny's Twitch or YouTube. As mentioned earlier, series creators will be there to talk with hosts and field questions from fans. Alternatively, you can jump straight into the Silent Hill: Ascension debut at 6 PM PT (or 9 PM ET).
