The Xbox One can run Windows 10 apps and games like Halo 5: Guardians, Forza Motorsport 6, and Sunset Overdrive. Now, thanks to YouTuber Vcfan, the Xbox One can (sort of) run Windows 95 (via Eurogamer).

Vcfan posted a video of the Xbox One running Dosbox, an emulator for Windows 95 and its applications. They ported the software to the Universal Windows Platform, which allowed them to use it in Xbox One's Developer Mode. You can check it out for yourself in the video below.

Xbox head Phil Spencer said that he wants Windows 10 to be an open platform, and he expects that we will get more apps than anything else from the Dev Mode, which can be activated on any Xbox One. However, it's unlikely that Dosbox would make its way into an official app store when support for UWP apps launches this summer.

The Xbox One's anniversary update is expected to add support for background music and the Siri-like digital assistant, Cortana. We can expect to hear more news and details about the update at E3.
