Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Games for January 2016 Coming Soon

January 2016's lineup of Xbox One backwards-compatible games will be announced soon, according to Xbox boss Phil Spencer. He says on Twitter that Xbox engineers are making the final pass on a few of the Xbox 360 games and will share the final, complete list for January 2016 in "not too much" time.

The Xbox One backwards compatibility program debuted in November as part of the New Xbox One Experience update. 104 games were supported at launch, with 16 additional titles added in December.

Microsoft has given no indication yet as to which games will be added in January.

With close to 141,000 votes, Call of Duty: Black Ops II is the most-requested Xbox 360 games for Xbox One backward compatibility on the Xbox Feedback website. Rounding out the top five are The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Red Dead Redemption, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and Call of Duty: Black Ops.

Black Ops is confirmed to be coming to the Xbox One backwards compatibility lineup, but none of the other top-requested games have been delivered yet.

@xTheTrueSeekerx: Although I prefer playing all my PC games with a controller, I had no problem playing Oblivion with Keyboard and Mouse.

My PC also is 100% of the time connected to second monitor - a 40 inch TV, and I have always a running program (that I myself developed) that lets me simulate mouse and keyboard with a controller.

So my PC is actually is a console, but with better hardware, cheaper games, true multitasking and most importantly - SSD. (and yes, unfortunately I have also Xbox One and PS4).

"Get it"?

@xTheTrueSeekerx: LOL! I'm one of those guys with the PC hooked up to the 42", and even I was like, "What a dick!?" about the way he said that, even if I see his point. It *would* probably take less time to hook up an old beater PC and USB controller to the TV than to wait on MS to do it right on the One.

I'm still waiting to see how they handle mods on the new consoles. How are they gonna maintain control and such. That is the only reason I ever saw to favor the PC versions, as paying more for a video card and dealing with installs was a hassle. Nowadays, gamer rigs are much more simple and console-like on which to install games.

I feel you, though. Nothing like a console's reliability and ease of use.

But, "Heil Hardware!", citizen. Ve haf vays of making you use ze keyboard... :P

1. The ones that innovates, because they are lazy, like me: Why should I connect additional low hardware box, when I can connect my PC (doesnt matter the size, there are PCs that smaller than consoles), and use all its features after I develop or install small program that lets me control my PC with a gamepad.

2. There are people like you, a sheep kind of people that go after the rest of the herd of sheeps that buys consoles for the "ultimate entertainment".

Well Mr. Sheep, Good luck begging Sony and Microsoft for adding all the features that my PC already has. My PC that is actually a console. A device that every game costs 10-25 $ instead 60-80$ (Bought Arkham Knight PREMIUM for 24$ day before release). And yes, my Arkham Knight worked well without FPS drops on my 4 years old PC with GTX970.

Programmer with IT knowledge have better chance being hired for a programmer position than a regular programmer, just FYI.

@Zeevs86: Innovates? Dude, you didn't come up with the idea yourself, nor did you develop your own program. Somebody told you how to do it, then you did it. I'm pretty sure you don't know what innovate means lol. But your right, there are 2 types of people. Ignorant people like yourself who think their way is the only way to do things, and people like me who realize that there are other ways of getting the same enjoyment out of something. You can have fun doing it your way, I honestly don't care. It doesn't make my way of enjoying the same thing any less fun. But it still amazes me how there are so many pc master race people like yourself who are so ignorant of anything else.

And to clarify, I do have a PC that can play all modern games, most even at ultra settings. I just prefer the Xbox platform

Not sure I understand the huge desire for black ops 2 for backwards compatibility. The latest and greatest, black ops 3, is out. That's like everyone voting for Madden 2010. Did black ops 2 have a killer campaign that I didn't hear about our something?

I downloaded Halo Reach and it plays at about 10 fps.... it's truly unplayable and even the voices are slowed down. Hopefully other BC games work better than Reach!

They KNOW the demand for Red Dead so those asses will now release a definitive edition or something like that. I highly doubt we will see Red Dead BC for a LONG time. Also, I wouldn't mind seeing the first Force Unleashed but that's also unlikely.

@tazziiix: All three are great games. Bioshock 2 is my personal favorite out of the Bioshock series, Bioshock 1 is spectacular, and The Stick of Truth is one of the best games in recent years.

I've seen Halo Wars in the main BC image since it was announced yet it has not been released. I'd love to get that game on Xbox One soon. The Transformers games like War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron would be great too!!
