Xbox Live goes postal in Japan
Gold memberships and Microsoft Points set to go on sale at Japanese post office ATMs starting November 1.
The postal system is near omnipresent in Japan, and it offers a wider range of services than just delivering mail. It also handles automated bill payments, life insurance, and automated teller machines, to name a few. According to an article on Famitsu.com, the post office will be offering some services specific to gamers starting November 1. Specifically, Japanese gamers will be able to pay for Xbox Live Gold memberships and Microsoft Points at any of the nation's more than 24,000 postal ATMs. According to Famitsu.com, some 21,000 convenience stores are also vending such prepaid services on behalf of Microsoft.
